Unfortunately we have taken the decision to postpone the Yorkshire Dales Outdoors Festival until Summer 2021 due to the Covid-19 outbreak.
The festival involves people travelling in shared transport for the Caving and Climbing activities, the talks are in doors and the festival offers camping with shared showers and facilities. All these factors had to be taken in to consideration and put the event at a higher risk than other events such as the Trail Half Marathons and fell running events.
Although the festival was not scheduled to take place until July, I understand that the government is advising that the peak of Covid-19 may be months away meaning that families and individuals are unable to plan ahead for these things.
As well as considering the well being of attendees and the general public, Due North Events is a small, local business and we have contracted other small local businesses to work on the festival, so although it is a loss to us now we feel that the businesses involved would suffer greatly if we were to delay making this decision.
The festival will go ahead in 2021 and we will use this time to make sure the event is even more special for you next year.
We hope that those who have already made bookings will carry them over to 2021. Refunds are available for anyone who wishes to cancel their booking.
Thank you for your understanding and continued support.
